I think that these guys over service. I take your car in for a service n they want to replace the struts on my bonnet. All i wanted was my engine serviced, not my car rebuilt!

My car's aircon/heater fan wasn't working so I took this to Ultra Tune Carlisle in hope that they could fix it. They advised a "fan sensor" had to be replaced which cost me around $270. The problem was temporary and the fan stopped working again. This happened 3 times, and the final time I returned the car to them I was advised in their words exactly, that they "finally found the actual problem". Made me raise an eyebrow.. should they not have identified the actual problem from the beginning? I assumed this would be fixed free of charge, but they quoted another $340 for replacement of the fan motor. I tried to reason with them against this and even tried to elevate this with the WA State Manager, who was completely useless. The manager of the store gave me a ridiculous explanation saying that they had trouble identifying the problem initially and 99% of the time when all cars are brought in with this same issue, the replacement of the fan sensor resolves it. So they pretty much were performing trial-and-error and I explained that you cannot assume my car is like every other car, and their response was that they can and there was no other way to find out the actual problem! Since then i've taken my car to an auto electrician, who simply spent 20 mins to perform a few tests, took the fan motor out of the car and carefully inspected it. The problem was that there was a bit of dirt impeding the fan's operation, so they simply cleaned it for me. I paid $70 and off I went. Problem fixed. No issue since. So Ultra Tune charged me $270 for a part that did not require fixing, and was adamant that i'd have to pay them another $340 for a motor that wasn't even broken! TERRIBLE! They would not even agree to let me pay for the difference! I have submitted a formal complaint with Consumer Protection and I'm looking forward to their response. The only positive I have on them is that they upgraded my car tyres for free because of their own mistake of ordering the wrong ones.

I had my car serviced there last week. I hoped I was supporting a new business in my local area. Unfortunately I feel quite ripped off and burned. I asked for a service and for 3 new Kuhmo tyres (rotate the new spare and put the relatively new tyre in as the spare). For this, I was quoted $660. After I dropped my car off, they called and said I needed a needed my rear shockies replaced, a new air filter and "fluids" (total price $1295). I responded by saying just do the service and the tyres and document extra work needed. In the mean time, I went back and checked my service records and the air filter was replaced at the last service..... (Who is spinning me a yarn - either the last people didn't do what they said, or these people are spinning me a yarn).

They did not proved me with the written quotation for this additional work as requested.

When I returned to collect the car they told me that they had fitted four new tyres instead of the three I had requested. They had replaced the four tyres on the car with cheap Chinese substitutes, and not rotated the spare.
Since this 'service' once the engine warms up the oil light comes on when the car is idling. Went back on Wednesday, and they said I needed a new "switch" - beginning to feel like a bit of a "luv" at this point. I am at this point seeing a new mechanic to sort out the oil pressure problem and to see if I really need a new air filter and rear shockies and, checking out comparative pricing for the tyres they fitted contrary to my instructions.

However, my overall impression is that these people overservice... Not recommended.
