The Royal Dental Hospital Of Melbourne

I came in with my dad who is 76 yo he was in severe pain with his tooth on Sunday 23rd March 2025,there was 4 dentists, I was there from 8:30 am waiting for my dad to be called, one hour passed in waiting and the people who came after us were called before my dad. The acting senior dentist came out and said that they have 4 dentists and we will deal with the emergency patients. Well hello we are all there to be seen that is why we press on the screen to press emergency to get a number, we are in pain and you deal with all dentists. Have 2 dentists seeing emergency patients and the other 2 less serious like a tooth extraction.

After 4 hrs which was 12:30 pm waiting and still not seeing I think the lady who always liked to take payment upfront put us on the bottom of the list. Then 4 pm came still not seen. What is going on?

You take a number and you shouldn't be asked at the window what is your problem with your teeth it's not her business to ask. If you press emergency it's a emergency if it's a appointment it's a appointment. The number you get is the way you should be seen with the dentist. Come 5 pm still not seen I went to the desk I asked do you know what time I was here she goes NO well she was the one who served me in the morning, you can't remember I told her I was here 8:30am. I will check she said but no response she walked off.

So if you read this do not say what your problem is to the reception staff as they will put you on the bottom of the list.

I got booked in for an appointment at 9:00am. I arrived at 9:01am. I called saying I was gonna be a little bit late, that was fine. I wait in line for 15minutes. Go to the desk to then get told oh sorry because you were late and we don’t have much dentists we can’t see you. I said I waited in line for 15minutes, her response was we can see you another day. I drove from Boronia to the city. I’m not happy on this poor service, I should of known from all the bad reviews. Don’t go here there’s other places like inspiro lilydale. Each ferntreegully, those places are worth your time.

Thank you so much to the students and staff at Royal Dental Hospital for looking after our 4 years old dental health. We had possitive experience in the hospital setting in both the students clinic and teaching clinic. Our little one was so well looked after. He did not have to be put under GA and you had saved us $5000 bill in which we couldn't afford.

So waited for a lengthy amount of time for appointment for my daughter. Got an appointment, caught a taxi in peak traffic cost nearly 70 dollars to arrive and be told , sorry your dentist called in sick, theres no appointments available, youll need to wait for letter in the mail.

As an ongoing public patient and being a 65 year old man I recently broke my 'crown' filling (late friday evening) - I called then and they said they were too busy but that if I was concerned I should attend personally. At 7.30.pm I went onto the city and to the public patient area and was further told - still too busy and 'there is no further emergency care after 8:45 pm. THIS IS MELBOURNE CITY DENTAL CARE. I accepted and returned home and couldn't eat properly / couldn't sleep properly /and arose at 7.00 am and attended personaly again. I arrived just before the doors opened at 8:45 am - I waited three hours before being reviewed. This review was to be assessed for treatment. I was told at this point that I did 'NOT FIT INTO THE CATEGORY THAT WOULD PERMIT ME TO BE TREATED TODAY'. I needed to make an appointment for a few days hence. As the state of affairs was unbearable I became very agitated / annoyed / angry / this developed into an utter rage which left all concerned. But I am not an irrational man and remain unaffected my drugs o alcohol. I suggest thtat the processes in Australia are becoming beyond endurance and unacceptable. When I talk to people about the state of affairs in Societal life inAustralia that my sentiments are often shared and always understood. However, I am eternally face twoth people who say 'But what can we do?' Well I left in a rage and attended a private dental person in Kew using my credit card - she charged me $200.00 for ten minutes work; I am a pensioner and this is i/3
of my fortnightly pension. UGLY AUSTRALIA!!!
