My friends car broke down. We towed it to my home. My husband (who is a mechanic)found it was a snapped timing belt and as a result low compression, head damaged and needed a new engine. The car was not of much value therefore decided to have it scrapped. This company turned up to my home on a day that the owner was not available. Got my son with autism, to sign documentation and state he was the owner of the vehicle. When he clearly is not the one who owns the vehicle, the person who arranged to have it collected, or the comprehension to understand what he was signing. They did not give my girlfriend the opportunity to collect the plates, her belongings within the vehicle, or anything else. That included a passport, a drivers licence, the rego papers and a gold braclet she got for her 21st from her grandmother (so much sentimental value). These items were in the glovebox. They coersed my son into signing a document stating he was the owner. He did not the developmental capacity or understaning to know what he was doing. He essential sold my girlfriends car and her belongings for $200. Their response when I rang was - well "Why did he sign the document and why did he hand over the keys then". I have reported them to the ACCC and police. All in hope that something is done with these crooks that take advantage of people. Essentially their process make it possible that they can turn up on any person with disadvantage or disabilities door, buy their stuff and not even check to see if they own it. Hopefully something will come of my complaints.

This maybe the first car removal company i have come across and i would be glad to recommend them to anybody else. Contrary to any other reviews on here, i actually found that the staff at A1 is respectful and kind. Furthermore, their driver who came to pick up my car was professional and was quick with his procedures.

I was given a cheque for the payment which i felt was unusual but then i could deposit it straight to my account.

Pathetic service. Agrees on a price, lowballs that price then does it again. Why not say you don't want the vehicle before it's on the truck. Pathetic, do not deal with these stingy people

These people are as far as i can tell impossible to contact and our 'agreed' price was re-nigged out of by the tow truck driver. let the buyer beware

website claims "CASH PAID FOR ALL CARS & TRUCKS" yet they assumed they could take my car off my hands without giving me A CENT! Unprofessional and untrustworthy.
