Review of NVE.
This company has earned one star rating simply because there is no negative number ability.
Service and trust is a non event.
My story goes like this. In April/May 2018 the motor in my 2010 Pajero failed.
The choice to repair it was a. A second hand motor with 3months warranty (should have taken it)
b. A reconditioned motor with 12 months unlimited kms warranty.
Both worked out with similar costs to be completed.
After having the recon-motor installed, tested and full service as required by the warranty we uplifted the Pajero and drove from Warragul to Caloundra Queensland to uplift our camper trailer.
The truck drove beautifully, no over heating, economical no warning lights and we gained in confidence with it.
Once up north we hooked the camper on and began the trip we had planned with others to the Blue mountains NSW.
On 2nd day of travel the reconditioned motor failed after less than 3500kms.
A call to NVE and a claim form was completed.
Then B from NVE rang me and from 1500kms away diagnosed the problem and that it was someone else’s fault and I would have to pay. Being able to do this from such long distances indicates he has has had a number of these problems and knew his motors were faulty.
When I challenged him about the warranty B threatened me stating “if you do not do what I say the repairs will not go easily”. That pretty much ended the conversation and I then contacted the mechanic K who had done the work for me.
K rang B and then B rang me back and the conversation was a little less threatening but the message remained the same. It’s not his problem.
I had the Pajero returned to K in Traralgon at my expense and let him deal with NVE and return the motor. Returning the motor direct to NVE meant I had no independent checks.
NVE put every obstacle they could in the way of getting the motor repaired.
K saw the photos of the damage to the motor from NVE and challenged the diagnosis. While one cylinder indicated Piston grab others had damage to the piston skirts indicating clearance issues. That led to threats not to repair the motor or to delay it.
As I needed the Pajero for a trip into the outback in July arriving on 21st, I agreed to paying for the repairs and made sure they knew when I required the vehicle back.
It didn’t happen. NVE refused to speak with my mechanic as he constantly challenged them about the repairs and diagnosis.
NVE blamed the water pump. No it’s a genuine Mitsubishi pump. “Oh it’s the Radiator then”. No it is brand new. Each attempt to prove their diagnosis was negated.
I eventually arrived back in Victoria and the vehicle was not ready and the motor still had not been completed or returned to K.
I rang B and asked where it was. He replied that they MIGHT start on the motor that week and they MIGHT have it on a crate that Friday. It was very clear he didn’t care and he was going to keep his promise that the repairs would not go easily.
He had the motor over 3 weeks and had done no work on it, even knowing when I needed it.
Just to show how low NVE went, they returned my motor on a pallet not on a proper crate as it should have been.
Other mechanics I have spoken to have used NVE and found that the warranty is worthless. One engine failed after less than 1000kms. The mechanic paid for the repairs himself as he did not believe his client should pay twice.
I read a similar review on this website. The reviewer got a similar run around I got from NVE for many weeks. The writers last entry was that the faults had been fixed and he had to take the review down.
I suspect that he was bullied and threatened like I was.
You may find a motor from NVE works well and lasts but if you have any problems the small card the warranty is printed on is about all the warranty is worth.
Plus unless you scrape and crawl to B he will put as many obstructions in your way to getting it rep

We as a family needed a new re conditioned engine, after first dealings with the General manager based in Cobram it all sounded good and was directed to their Braeside premises for the removal of old engine and re install of new engine.
That's where the good ended and the bad started, with components falling of the engine after 2000 K, even after they looked over the vehicle with the first 1000 k service. Drama after Drama with misleading/lying by the general manager in regards to faulty workmanship and any warranty claim with them, to the point of being accused of calling them all the time, while they played pin pong with us between the braeside premises and cobram general manager. Vehicle returned and came back worse with months off the road and costing many $$$$ more, all due to them. Never again will we ever deal with this company, nor recommend them, if I could take there engine out and get my old one back and our money would do in a flash and go else where. Buyers Beware..

Poor handling of clear warranty issue after engine failed. Very frustrating to deal with and would not recommend this company.
