Made our pool compliant

Council served us with a non compliance notice and gave us a month to have it fixed. Shannon was able to quote the job and have a new fence installed within 3 weeks. Thank you so much for your help

Poor communication

Unfortunately the experience overall with forever fencing was stressful due to poor communication. Very happy with the fencing job that the contractor did. And he dealt with my tricky neighbour with professionalism and courtesy. And the manager stepped in to do some of the work when the contractor was on leave which I appreciated. Communicating with the manager about the job and the timeframe was very difficult through the process prior to the job. He seemed to rarely pick up the phone or respond to texts, so in trying to find out about the prep needed for the fencing or when they were coming was difficult. When payment was due he was certainly contacting me no problem. This was interesting to me. When I talked to him about the difficulty in contacting him he would just say he was really busy. I tried to be reasonable and polite with him, and this went on for weeks trying to communicate with him. I have never before experienced this with a business and it caused unnecessary stress that was completely unavoidable. When the major fencing job was finished there was a slate gate yet to be ordered and installed that I had paid 70% of. For 3 months I couldn't get the manager on the phone or text and I honestly thought I'd done my money, it was not a big job. I understand that staff had some leave during the period but some simple communication would have been helpful rather than silence. Eventually I managed to contact the contractor as I had no options left with the manager and the job was completed. The manager then contacted me about the final payment. He never really took on my verbal feedback or acknowledged his part in the communication breakdown. So I thought I'd write a review for others, and I hope he might improve this for his customers following my feedback. Seems a shame as I am happy with the end result but would not recommend due to this poor communication. Simple communication goes a long way and if you are too busy to communicate about a job just don't take it on.

Made our daycare pool compliant

Doesn’t even start the job but will take your money.

We contracted Shannon in August 2021 to build a fence. We paid a deposit and he has not attempted to complete the job. We have had to go through ACCC complaints and tribunal where he was given a court order to return our deposit in full and he has not done this. He didn’t even attend the court hearing which was attended over the phone and he was informed of this over phone, email and post. He does not return phone calls, text messages or emails. We are deeply disappointed in our transactions with Shannon and forever fences and would not recommend them to anyone.

Is it factory seconds or poor workmanship or both?

Shannon is the owner, Nick is contractor who does the work.

Both requested nearly $2k cash on completion, no time so Shannon accepted bank transfer but not debit/credit card. Afterwards, I asked them to replace their damaged end cap & 2 damaged posts. Nick couldn't find anything 1st time & claimed to fix end cap & spray paint patch powder coated posts. Posts appeared untouched. Shannon said he'd come out to look that week. Chased nearly a week later, said he was sick. Eventually agreed to replace 1 post but was replaced with another damaged post. Are they using factory seconds? Asked for Nick's details twice for Dept of Fair Trading claim. Will see if I ever get another response.
