I'm absolutely mortified, my two nearly 3 year old Burmese sisters Dubhghaill and Sakura, were taken in to be desexed today. While I was in hospital I was rang 3 times, when I could finally answer I was told one of my cats had "passed" I was also informed the wrong cat had died. I was told 3 different stories, then told it was an underlying issue. Yet everything was apparently fine until her breathing tube was taken out. 1st story there was two nurses with her when it happened, I don't believe this otherwise I would have been told, somone tried to revive her, or simply put her tube back in.
2nd story was the tube was removed then someone went in and found her dead. 3rd story is that an emergency situation came in, then somone checked on her and she was dead. They were both given the same amount of anathestic, even though the one that died was much more petite and slender.
I wish to all the gods that I'd not done this, especially with such an emphasis on the anaesthetic, three times it was mentioned. Never again will I return with my other two cats or dogs. Be careful if your pet requires surgery, very dangerous and permanent outcomes can and have occurred. To top it off they've not even offered me compensation as a kind gesture, or even an apology
