I didn't like this cinema and I was really disappointed because the receptionist didn't accept the companion card for my Autistic son.

I went to United cinemas last week with my kids and I was discusted with the quality of the chairs. The cinema smells and I moved 4 times to find a good seat. The next day I got a viral infection and I was sick for 4 days. Those seats need to be upgraded and I don't want to even talk about the toilets!!!!

They wouldn’t let us get a refund even though we had to go home. She was extremely sexist and she gave one of the boys in our friend group but not a girl. Extremely rude employees that talked bad about my friends after we left and made them cry.

My disabled daughter can only access the community with a carer. As such she has a companion card! To every other organisation my daughter has accessed the companion card means that she buys a normal ticket and the carer is free (given the carer is solely there to support access for the PWD).
Yesterday, upon going to United Cinema in Craigieburn it was absolutely astonishing to see that UNITED CINEMA would not recognise the carer and the carer had to pay $9.50. This is the only venue we have come across that does not recognise the Government initiative of the companion card for people who have life long support needs and who cannot access the community without a carer.
When challenged on this they actually produced a prepared, printed and laminated policy saying (amongst other things) that the carer must pay $9.50. This shows that what happened yesterday is not a unfortunate mistake but an actual policy.
Disgusted. To avoid a major meltdown by PWD we ended up paying and going in but spoilt the day and has left us very disillusioned. Hang your head in shame UNITED CINEMA CRAIGIEBURN. Your policy shows no understanding of disability and PWD and you are certainly not an inclusive organisation.
I strongly feel that anyone who knows people with a disability should take this matter seriously and re-consider whether they should be supporting a Cinema that puts profit over people. Very poor form.
