Inter Island Ferries

I have never written a bad review in my life but was so disgusted with my treatment by Inter Island Ferries I felt I had to share it.
I was planning a trip to French Island, but know a few people who had been stranded on the island overnight due to ferry cancellations, which are apparently quite frequent. I contacted Inter Island Ferries by email (after many fruitless attempts to speak to an actual person on their information line) to request information about how many ferry cancellations there had been the previous weekend. I understand that cancellations are beyond their control as they are subject to the weather, but I figured that because I knew the weather conditions for that particular weekend, I would be able to vaguely extrapolate the best weekend for me to travel without the risk of being stranded. You can only plan so much when it comes to something like the weather, but I like to be as prepared as possible.
My completely innocent request was met with the following curt and hostile response: "Why would you need this confidential information ? Who are you?"
Needless to say I was completely taken aback, in my opinion having done nothing to warrant such rudeness. A further, similarly disgustingly hostile, email followed, telling me that if I still planned to travel to French Island I could not expect to do so with Inter Island Ferries.
I am glad I know how this company treats people before I paid good money to use their service. I informed them that I would be relating my experience on social media, which was of "no value" to them, as apparently they care nothing for their reputation. Doubtless they will not be bothered by this review, but hopefully others will think twice before dealing with this company.
