Report

This is the worst mechanic in Melbourne, i called this mechanic and explained to them that my van needed a fuel pump, they told me that they will use 15 to found out the problem, the mechanic came to my house and spends 1 hour 30 mins doing nothing, at the end of the day he told me that my van problem is fuel pump, then he charged me 315 dollars without fixing the van, he told me that i should toll the van to their company in Dandenong, i asked him how much can it cost and he said about 800 dollars, as he left, i took my van to near by mechanic and they fixed my van with 300 dollars including buying of fuel pump, i have reported this matter to my inlaw a police officer and he asked me to call this mechanic and asked for refund, i did and they told me that they will not refund me, i talked to my friend and he said this same mechanic have reaped them off before, this is not a good mechanic and i will recomend anyone to not use them, if you use them, you will regret at last.

Fabulous experience with Paul and team

ACE mechanics provided support with car repairs for registration. From my experience and dealings the whole team were very professional, friendly and easy to communicate with. They explained the process, followed up with tasks and delivered in a timely manner. After this experience I would highly recommend and use them again. Thank you Paul and Team!

Bad experience

I have had a very bad experience with Ace Mechanics. They offered me a very good quote for changing 6 sparkplugs when I spoke with them on the phone- $180. Then I went there and I left the car with them. They kept my car for 4 hours and then they made the bill $ 535.

After a long negotiation they dropped the price to $450.

Don't trust them, they will rip you off. I feel robbed.

Horrible service

If I could provide less than one star, I would. So I was stopped at traffic lights when my car accelerator suddenly decided not to work, after two seconds it kicked in and I was able to drive my car to a parking lot safely. When the mechanic arrived he made a point of telling me little things that were wrong with my car based purely off a glance - he didn't touch anything under the bonnet - and was giving me prices along the way, he then ran a diagnostic which cost me a further $65. He told me there were so many things coming up that it would probably cost upwards of $2,000 to fix and that, in his opinion, the car probably wasn't worth that.

Today I had my local mobile mechanic, Safe Lube Mobile Mechanics, come and take a lot and tell me what they thought. Turned out all I needed was a new battery and that all the issues on the diagnostics were because of a dying battery. Apparently any reputable mechanic would know that. It also feels important to note that I'm a woman in her twenties, and was very much spoken to as one by the mechanic from Ace. Overall I was charged $250 with NO information given about why my accelerator had stopped, not even a GUESS, and was just left there thinking my car was a write off when all it needed was a new $180 battery.
