Very disappointed with Kia Lakeside’s handling of an ongoing battery issue.

For over 3 months, my father’s Kia has had serious battery problems—often failing to start, requiring a charger, and even stalling in the middle of the road, which put his safety at risk.



We reported the issue at a scheduled service on 22 May 2025, well within the 2-year battery warranty, but the service team claimed they found no fault. The issue continued, so we sought a second opinion from an independent mechanic, who tested the battery and clearly confirmed it was faulty and needed replacement.



We returned to Kia Lakeside on 14 July 2025 with the report. That day, the car stalled right in front of the service centre, and staff mentioned they would need to jump-start the vehicle to restart it. Despite this, Kia insisted on doing another check and again said they found no issue.



To our shock, they told us we’d need to pay $199 to replace the battery, even though the problem had been reported while under warranty. The manager showed no concern for our safety and refused to replace the battery under warranty.



The car is still with Kia Lakeside, but given how this issue has been handled so far, we have little hope it will be resolved properly.

This level of service is unacceptable, especially from a global brand like Kia. We expected better.

Horrible Dealership

My partner took our Seltos here for a routine service. Horrible customer service from Danielle who wouldn’t even let him through the doors five minutes early. Even worse customer service from the service department as they had many “oversights” with issues they were supposed to repair. It seems that the car was barely looked at as the invoice states many inspections were undertaken yet none of the issues were actually fixed. Take your car to ANY other Kia dealership as Lakeside Kia are very unprofessional and untrustworthy. I would have given 0 stars if the review allowed it.

Great business wonderful service

Steve was easy to talk to and extremely helpful in our decision on the right car with no pressure and Sarah was really helpful giving us a great deal with the extras. Very happy to recommend Lakeside Kia to any potential buyers.

Bad Service.. wil never ever go to this showroom. Me & My partner went to this showroom to buy Kia Sorento. I asked sales agent Name Karan that I am looking for Kia Sorento & she was keep asking a same question What's your budget without giving any info & showing us a car.

Kia Should give some training to this Rude agent what & when to ask this question. Specially when Customer telling you that they what buy this specific car. If I am asking you I want to buy this car, I'm definitely asking as per my budget

Thanks to John and the team at lakeside Kia, they gave me a great trade in deal on my vehicle and a fantastic price on my new Kia Sorento platinum. Best of all no pressure sales just a relaxed team that make you feel welcome and are more than happy for you to test drive any of there vehicles. Well done.

Just want to say what a fantastic experience and fabulous people that work at lakeside kia.Dean,Dan and Kat made buying our new car with no stress. They all went above and beyond to give us the best deal with our trade in and finance. I cant thank you all enough for going out of your way to please us. I would recommend anyone looking for a kia to go see these wonderful happy people. Thank you all again from the bottom of my heart.

From the moment my wife and I walked into the showroom we were welcomed by an knowledgable, energetic and positive new cars salesman, that being Ray Fontelera.
Ray's end to end positive approach gave us 100%confidence we had come to the right place to purchase a car which we happily did this afternoon.
We took the Kia Sportage Si premium for a test drive and put it through our own assessment evaluation whilst Ray explained the features of the SUV.
I have to say the Sportage outperformed our expectations in the overall drive, handling, comfort and price. On finalising the sale we were introduced to the Western Kia Sales Manager, Gary and the Finance Manager, Jennifer whom both interacted with a positive and can do attitude. In summary we had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend you purchase a car from these guys as they are trustworthy, fun and positive to deal with.
Well done guys keep up the positive customer advocacy and secondly well done Kia as I now know why the Australian car makers finding it difficult to do business based on your overall quality product and price offerings. Really hard to beat

It is with a rather heavy mind that I write this review......
I have quite a few questions STILL after 2weeks of purchasing my vechile
I was let down on a number of times as soon as I gave over my deposit .........
It seems to me that MY sales person is far from following the WESTERN KIA CODE. of after sales service.
I am extremely disappointed
and eagerly await some service
I'll keep you posted
