great service keeps my retro appliances in working order

I have been using George to keep my appliances running for 10 years now.

Wouldn't try anywhere else.

He gives sound advice if repairs are not going to be cost effective.

Great fix up service

My Cambridge Azur hi fi amp shorted and switched it self off whenever speakers were connected but not with the headphones. This was a tricky problem that required thinking outside the box and George solved the problem for a reasonable fee. The $10 inspection fee is extremely reasonable

Good old fashioned SERVICE! From my first contact with George (business owner/ technician) the service could not have been better. George was very polite and clear in terms of the service he provided. George quoted me a service investigation cost of $10 to review my DVD player/ recorder to ascertain the issue - this compared to a $50 to $80 nonrefundable cost quoted by other service centres. Within 24 hours of dropping off my DVD player/ recorder George rang me with a quote to repair it; it was half the price of replacing the player and came with a 3 month warranty. George repaired the player and rang me within one week of drop-off to pick it up; the cost was as quoted. I could not recommend Elwood Village Electronics more highly, and in future will be my first port of call in relation to electronic device repair. Greg R.

Just working off a phone conversation, but did my homework and believed with good reason that my TV had a faulty power supply board and was looking for someone to test the capacitors. George said "I wouldn't be interested" and up on my "Ummm, okay..." When I called back he did recommend I speak directly to the manufacturer to see if they could recommend someone to take a look at the board. This second conversation after the hangup was much more polite. Essentially I got, "If I can't give you a high surcharge for a part you can order yourself on ebay, I'm not interested in you or your problem." I guess this is one way to do business.
