I could write a small book about the details of this purchase and the comedy of errors that proceeded it but basically we purchased one thing and received another. I had to chase them for updates repeatedly over 5 months and was always told that the correct item was coming. Then finally they admitted that it was discontinued. Only a store credit was offered and they have nothing in store that is suitable. To add insult to injury the last communication with them included accusing me of lying even though the details of our order are in their own documentation (invoice). I've now submitted a complaint to the office of fair trading. I wish I had read the reviews before shopping there.

Summary: One of the items we received had a tear in it on delivery, despite us being told that it didn't. No compensation was forthcoming.
Details: We purchased 2 king split king ensembles from Johnny's Furniture in July & were dealing with Virgil throughout.
We were going to get the standard Sealy split king, but Virgil convinced us to get the premium ones (at a premium price of course) as they could be reversed (the standard one can't). All of this was over the phone. We verbally verified the condition (no tears) & they organised for Jose (JR Removals & Deliveries) to deliver.
The good news - they were actually delivered.
The bad news - one of them had a tear in it (& also excessive marking which was not described either).
Upon contacting Virgil, it was agreed that a $100 refund was the most appropriate action (as this was the difference between the non reversible & this premium/reversable model) & that it would be sorted asap.
Months later (after many followups) still nothing to be seen.
Lesson: Only buy an exact item you personally verify from Johnny's Furniture &/or make sure you do your own transport / delivery (do not use Jose).
