Our experience with Bell Plumbing was extremely poor. The work carried out at our property was substandard and ultimately required rectification by another plumber. Most concerningly, they failed to reconnect the stormwater drain after completing sewerage repairs—an unacceptable oversight that caused further issues. We expected a basic level of competence and attention to detail, neither of which were delivered. Use this company at your own risk.

Criminal, unscrupulous and are ripping off pensioners. They WILL exploit your lack of plumbing knowledge.

My pensioner mother-in-law needed a domestic water tank pump repaired. BELL Plumbing came to inspect and claimed the whole system would need replacing. And quoted in excess of $1700. I asked BELL to reassess the quote as it seemed quite steep, they deducted $130. Still though??

So I inspected the pump myself.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with the simple hose system connecting the water tank to the pump and then to the tap. Only the pump has stopped working. So already the quote was sounding dodgy.

I’m no plumber but even I could tell the burnt smell coming off the pump was the issue. After a chat to a local plumbing supplier and quick Google search I found the issue, a burnt out capacitor. A simple swap out of the capacitor and the system was up and running perfectly, without even a single leak. Even if the capacitor wasn’t the issue the plumbing supplier could replace the pump for less than $400.

So the problem was fixed for $30 instead of $1700+.

I emailed BELL asking for an explanation and to date they are yet to provide one. I assume they are hiding hoping this would blow over so they’re not caught out on other jobs.

What kind of person/business takes advantage of pensioners?
