Back in the 1980’s when I ran a Taxi, I discovered Alfred Cove Automatic service. The business was in Shields Cres, Booragoon.

Over 20 years, Nigel serviced and repaired my Taxi and personal transportation. Steering Racks, differential’s, universal joints and transmission all repaired and maintained by this business. Since 1997, I have been getting my Landcruiser’s driveline and Automatic Transmission service and maintenance done here. My family of young adults also had their vehicle’s transmission serviced and maintained by Nigel. I cannot recommend this business highly enough, nobody has the knowledge, cleanliness and dedication of service, that I have enjoyed here.

Fixed the 5th gear problems and did cv,s with no fuss at a great price. Forget the rest these guys are the best. Cheers Nigel

AC Automatics came highly recommended by my mech JLC Auto Centre. My Jeep's temperamental transmission box, noisy rear diff & malfunctioning transmission case to my mind all needed a major overhaul after 350K + km. In the end the T-case was fine but I had the other 2 components removed & overhauled, along with the torque convertor. 4 days labour plus parts and the xj is running like new. Can't recommend AC automatics highly enough. Excellent service, thanks.

I took my car to Alfred Cove Automatics as the transmission was locked into 3rd gear due to a failure detected by the computer, as well as having a routine transmission service.

The owner said that the transmission problem was going to be "expensive" to fix and claimed he'd fitted a test computer to my car to see if that was the fault, and it would require another service, despite having just had one!

As a transmission mechanic he had no business touching the computer on my car, and asking for money for another service immediately after the first didn't sound right, so I went elsewhere and had the problem fixed immediately for under $100.

The owner of Alfred Cove Automatics then had the nerve to phone me and demand his computer back, although I suspect he never changed the computer and was trying to make more money out of me. I told him he wouldn't be coming near my car again.
