I engaged PM Design Group for engineering works on my new residential build, based on a quote with a specific 4-week timeframe. The request for works began in September 2024, but I only received the engineering documents in December 2024. The project experienced over five weeks of delays due to internal errors, causing major disruptions and additional expenses in the thousands for me.
During this period, my attempts to communicate via email and phone went unanswered. It wasn't until I issued a formal 28-day notice that I received any response, which confirmed that the delay was due to an internal error from delegating the job to a draftsperson instead of an engineer. Despite this admission, there was no follow-through on the commitment to discuss compensation for the extra costs I incurred.
Here's a summary of my experience:
Significant Delays: The project was delayed by over five weeks beyond the agreed timeline.
Lack of Communication: My calls and emails were ignored until I issued a formal 28-day notice.
Internal Errors: The delay was caused by poor internal management.
Unresolved Compensation: Despite promises, there was no follow-up on exploring compensation for the additional costs incurred in the thousands.
Ultimatum: I was given an ultimatum to either pay the full invoice or have the engineering documents and R126 retracted with the building surveyor, further complicating the project.
This lack of accountability and disregard for customer satisfaction is extremely disappointing. I hope PM Design Group takes these concerns seriously and improves their processes for future clients. Until then, I cannot recommend their services.
