Davebilt Industries

This week I approached Davebilt Industries Gosford to fabricate a canvas canopy frame for my Ute. Davebilt Industries advised that they don't quote an exact price and provided a verbal estimate that my job would take a couple of hours and a bit of pipe. I asked how much an hour and was advised $100. My estimate and budget for the job, always expecting a little extra, was about $400 to $450. On collection I was given an invoice for $732.60. I challenged the price and was advised that it took their experienced fabricator over 5 hours to make the frame. The frame was about 1000mm deep, 1500mm wide and 800mm high. Maybe my expectations are wrong.
