Billy Lids

This has to be one of the worst childrens play centre in Melbourne ive been too. We walk in with two children who have severe allergies so i sit them down to unpack the pram, children and water bottles. I walk over to the counter to advise them i have brought in their food along for our children due to their allergies and was advised i should have told them as soon as we walked through the door because other staff members won't be happy if they see food brought from home. Are you for real? There is nothing ( apart from an Apple juice and deep fried oily chips - rather healthy they can eat.. but the staff members kept insisting surely there is something they can eat and the policy is designed for children with allergies. Yet my children who are the ones with allergies? The allergy menu still states in a clause at the bottom of the list that they cannot guarantee there is totally no nuts, egg, dairy, gluten etc. Quite contradicting? I rest my case...

Billy Lids in Hawthorn is a good play centre however does get very busy for the space it is in. Its reasonably priced & the hours are good. The set-up is good as they have designated separate areas for the babies & toddlers. They also do parties but we havent had one there as yet. The food is ok & the coffee does the trick!
