Church P.

10/16/2017

Good music. Poor preaching. Pitiful fellowship.

The perfunctory smiles of the greeting team are polite, but nothing more: I was able only to discover one or two exceptions to this rule. The quality of the music (contemporary light-rock style) is quite good. The best preaching - strangely - is given by volunteer lay-preachers: the salaried pastors who preach most of the time are disappointingly dull.

C3 Monash offers a full range of age-specific groups for youth and young adults: but similar to elsewhere, few will succeed in breaking into the various church-cliques to find any friendship. My children attended their age-specific program on various occasions before giving up and joining a far more welcoming youth group elsewhere.

C3 Monash is one of the few Canberra churches to run regular [usually monthly] mens’ events: but I don’t recommend them. When I attended a mens’ night I was treated more like a leper than a brother: the only friendly faces were - like me - other first-time visitors. Who - like me - never went back to another mens’ event.

In short, C3 Monash is best summarised by the adage “the Frozen Chosen”.
