On the 1st of November 2014, my house unfortunately burnt down during a bushfire. I had just finished my school HSC, preparing for my year 12 formal.. which for many girls, is an important day! I lost many of my belongings, including childhood photos, many clothes & my formal shoes. Fortunately for me, I was getting my dress altered at Katoomba Fabrics, so my dress was left untouched by fire. My alteration request was quite a hard job (including a lining on the bodice of my dress, raising the hem & leaving a small train).
After approx. 1 week, I went into the store to pick up my dress. The lady who helped me heard the story of my house & losing my shoes. You could tell she was heart broken. She went back to her bag which was left in the back of the shop & pulled out her wallet. She handed me $100 to buy myself some new shoes. This lady is not only amazing at what she does, she is also an amazing, selfless & all round beautiful woman!
On the night of my year 12 formal, I was wearing a beautiful dress & had beautiful shoes. It was the perfect night & it was all thanks to this amazing woman at Katoomba Fabrics.
This is a memory that I will NEVER forget & one day, I will repay her as much as I can.
Thank you again.

This buisness belongs to me. Three years ago I moved my store to 84 Bathurst Road Katoomba, opposite the railway station and the Station Bar. My store has been servicing Katoomba for over 34 years. It is a light bright store with twice the space [for more stock :) ]. Yellow Pages have been, on many occasions, notified of this move. We offer an extensive range of curtain and soft furnishing fabrics to suit our climate and lifestyles. There is free curtain making on most of our fabrics. There's a complete installation service available or you can purchase poles or tracks from our quality range. We also stock fashion and craft fabrics, as well as a comprehensive collection of haberdashery, ribbons, laces, trims and threads.
