B&B Fridge & Freezer

Nathan and the owner Mike were great at the beginning...very helpful and friendly when I was looking at purchasing a brand new ice cream freezer from them. However, the freezer was delivered faulty and this resulted in hundreds of dollars of damaged stock. After plugging in the freezer and making sure it was working as expected for a brand new freezer, I filled it with stock and left it overnight. The next day was grand opening and I was so excited to see how well the business would go but to my horror, all the ice cream had melted because there was no gas in my brand new freezer!! There was a leak in the hot gas solenoid and even their technician said that had the freezer been tested 24 hours before delivery, this would have been avoided. The freezer was also delivered with damaged lights and now my brand new freezer has scratches all over from the work done by the technician. I paid for a brand new freezer to avoid issues with buying second hand but instead, it has caused me so much trouble and stress. I also lost a whole day of trading, not to mention lost in rent. However, the only thing I have asked B&B Fridge to do was to reimburse me for the lost of stock but they agreed to only reimburse me for half of it. I appreciated this offer but I still don't think it's fair that I should lose a cent from someone else's mistake! Had they done the right thing from the beginning and tested the freezer before delivery, I would not be out of pocket a single cent! If the freezer was a couple of months old, I would not have been as disappointed but it was faulty on the very first day of trading.



I have contacted consumer protection and my next step is to contact Small Business Development and if need be, the Magistrates Court as I strongly believe I have been unfairly treated.



This review is to warn others about B&B Fridge - they are great at the beginning but if things go South, they become not so helpful. If you want to avoid being in a stressful situation, I would recommend paying a bit more and buy from a bigger company such as Majors. I am not here to dis B&B Fridge, I just want people to be aware and make up their own minds because had I read a review such as this before purchasing, I would have gone elsewhere and save myself from all the stress and anxiety that they have caused me over the past month and mostly likely, the next few months.
