The Beef Shed

I have been here twice. On both occasions I have purchased off meat. I let the first occasion slide as it was just $2 pet mince.

Second occasion, I purchased Beef Spare Ribs on the 8th March with a best before date of 4th March - didn't even think to check the date as I believe there should be a certain level of trust that they have standards. On 9th March, I opened the packet - meat was covered in green slime and smelt disgusting! This is when I checked the date. VERY DISAPPOINTED TO SAY THE LEAST!



Yep, it was only $10.47 but I am not a charity case - I requested a refund. They were happy to do that on their terms: I bring the meat back in along with the receipt (which I still have).

Except I live an hour away and $10.47 simply isn't worth the drive. The Beef Shed blamed their "supplier" and failed to take accountability for their failure to comply with the simplest of standards.



To be honest if it was just 1 maybe 2 days past the expiration, I wouldn't care so much but this is 4 days AND NOT EVEN REDUCED IN THE SLIGHTEST!!! Not to mention the fact they thought it was OK because they put "best before" instead of "use by".



Wasn't going to mention it but since I am unhappy with standards - some of their employees are incredibly rude at the check-out!



After seeing other reviews very similar - AVOID THIS PLACE - it's only a matter of time until someone gets seriously sick.
