Didn't do what they said they'd do and didn't respond to emails.

The solicitor I was using left the firm half way through a job with me (but annoyingly had taken on the job knowing that he was about to move on) and the new incoming lawyer taking over didn't do what she said she'd do (on several occasions). The last time she said she'd do something that yet again she didn't do I made several attempts to find out from her and her assistants what had happened but all enquiries went unanswered.

Altogether a pretty poor service. I won't use this firm again - for anything.

As a side note, their website is really out of date. Several people shown on the website haven't worked there for quite some time (and they're just the ones that I know about. I'm sure there are probably others shown who no longer work there either). Not a sharp organisation.

Words cant express how grateful I am to Ross Mason and Doug Egan at Mason Lawyers. I was extremely upset when I learned that my mother being unwell had not had all the legal paper work in place. A call to Mason Lawyers and everything was organised for me. They were understanding, caring, polite and generous with their time and fees I could not praise this firm more highly.

I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Mason Lawyers in the settlement of my fathers estate, in what should have been a fairly straightforward case given that I was the sole beneficiary of the estate. However, at each and every stage, the process was frustrated and drawn out by the incompetence and complete lack of professionalism of this firm. Some examples:

The necessity of leaving 4 or 5 messages and numerous emails prior to receiving a response
Delays (of months!) in submitting paperwork after all necessary documentation had been provided
Losing documents in the mail (in the end I couriered paperwork requiring signing myself)
Unable to account for the whereabouts of several thousand dollars once bank accounts closed
Continual provision of misinformation

After 9 months of the above difficulties, I obtained a meeting after compiling a complete timeline and record of events, that I intended to send to the Law Society of NSW. The documents required to finalise the estate were provided to me two days later.

My experience with this firm encompassed everything you hope to avoid when dealing with Solicitors, and without a doubt made what was already a very difficult time that much more so.
