Australian Centre for the Moving Image

ACMI at Federation Square is absolutely a gem for Melbourne. It has greatly fostered and enhanced my childrens interest in the art of cinema by hosting such iconic events as the Tim Burton exhibition and the Animation and Disney exhibitions. Definitely get on their mailing list for the constant stream of events and interesting films that that they show. Currently they have a show of famous screen costumes I am sure it will be worth the money. Their usual displays are free.

ACMI can be found in Fed Square. Its a great place that offers some free exhibitions as well as some exhibits where you have to pay. As the name suggests the centre focuses around film, television and the moving image. Most of the exhibits are interactive and you can easily spend hours looking and playing with things.
