Balloon Sunrise

My sister and I were given a Balloon Sunrise experience as a gift many years ago, and today it remains as one of my most memorable experiences.

Starting really early in the morning, but the time the Balloon is inflated and ready to go the sun starts to rise and slowly you float above Melbourne as it wakes up below you. I never imagined how quiet and peaceful it would be up there. It was simply stunning peering over the edge of the basket to the suburbs below. The highlight though would have to have been when we passed through the city. The view was amazing, and there were still some low clouds wrapped around the buildings and as we passed through them it was the most amazing humid yet refreshing feeling. Like the densest fog Ive ever experienced.

The experience ended with a champagne breakfast at a local cafe. All up a fantastic morning.
Be warned though, youre at the mercy of the weather. Its very possible for the Balloon flight to be called off that very morning after youve gone to the trouble of waking up in the wee hours when its still dark!
