Princess Theatre

A lot of top shows are staged at the Princess Theatre. The location is fantastic, its accessible by tram and also only a short walk from Parliament station. The stage is visible from every seat I've had when visiting so I don't think you can go too far wrong on that front. The building itself is old and historic.

The Princess Theatre is probably the most architecturally interesting of the five or six historic theatres that you can find in Melbourne. The gilding and detail on the roof are things of beauty and the interior has all been lovingly restored by David Marriner. It is a great place to watch the blockbuster musicals that often play there. It is right next to Parliament metro station and there are cafes and restaurants nearby.
