The 'meal' my partner and I shared was not only very costly, but looked and tasted like a sub par entre at a backpackers. Our meal consisted of crackers dip, some spring rolls with bits of salmon chucked on top. To say the least I expected more from a chefs special. In addition our friends ordered the chicken Parmas. Well you can't go wrong with a chicken Parma, however they did at this place. It resembled a microwave dinner with a serving of gravy that looked like oxo cube dissolved in a bit of water and what looked like french fries from the fast food joint next door. To top this off there was a strong repulsive smell of urine the coated the staircase towards the upstairs bar, that put us off from even going up the first step. For what it could be or was once, it is now a disappointment that I would need to be paid to return to.

Young and Jacksons has managed to maintain it charm as I have ben visiting here on and off for over 20 years. The food is good at a reasonable price. Beer selection is OK and they have a few local craft brewers available in bottles which is a nice change to the local scene.

Good place to start your night or settle in for a long one as transport is just out the front door.

This bar has changed a lot from years ago. Its a big place with 4 bar areas and 2 eating areas. The front bar is big, and around the corner the long bar has comfortable places to sit. There restaurant downstairs that serves fancy pub food and upstairs the restaurant is a la carte. Venture to the roof and you'll find the cider bar, it's a cute spot.

We went to this pub for the first time in years recently and were pleasantly surprised. Everything seemed to be revamped and on the way up the stairs to see Chloe, we stumbled across an interesting little Cider Bar out in the open on the roof. Had a great time and will visit again.

A Melbourne icon that due to it's location will have far more tourists than locals in it at any given time. The beer prices here also reflect that as they're a fair bit more expensive that what you can get at bars nearby. If you're interested in seeing Chloe, the painting this place is famous for you'll find her upstairs.
