The Coffee Club - Woodgrove

We decided to come to this outlet for a change as we ALWAYS support the independent and boutique cafe operators. Today, we visited the Coffee Club at Woodgrove Shopping Centre.



We ordered a flat grill and the cashier upsold us an additional side of sweet potato chips. The problem started when we questioned the amount of sweet potato chips on our plate, which we had to pay an extra $4 for. There were about 8 pieces of sweet potato chips. We complained, they took the plate away topped it up to about 17 chips.



The Manager, Marleigh, came out to speak with us. She had the worst display of body language, attitude and customer service. She said the sweet potato chips cost extra for Coffee Club, so better to just order normal chips! What the?



A few minutes later, a barista came out to us, on the instructions of the Manager, Marleigh, that a customer before leaving the outlet, reported that we ‘stole’ their salt and pepper shakers off our table!! When she approached, the salt and pepper shakers were still on our table, infact we didn’t even use it in our meal but still the barista wanted to search us!! What the??



My husband emptied his pockets and put the contents on the table. We offered the handbag, but she said she was not allowed to touch it?!?! So we opened the bag for her to look inside. DUH, guess what? No salt and pepper shakers!!! We ask to see the Manager again.



We waited awhile and the Manager, Marleigh finally came out. The Manager, Marleigh, said this ‘customer’ accused my husband for knicking off the salt and pepper shakers from the other tables!!!! What!!!! So the story has now changed!!!



We believe there was no customer who complained. We believe the Manager, Marleigh, fabricated the whole thing including the fictitious customer!!!! We believe she fabricated the whole thing because she did not like that we questioned the miserable amount of sweet potato chips on our plate.



Not happy that our casual Sunday breakfast got ruined!!!! We should have just stuck to supporting the independent and boutique cafe operators!!!!



We highly recommend not to ever visit Coffee Club at Woodgrove Shopping Centre!!!
