Take your business elsewhere and avoid Electric Express.

We recently hired these guys to put some new data ports in for us upstairs, as we only had one downstairs in our studio.

The price they quoted seemed expensive, but we just wanted to get the job done. I was at work and my wife was home, I spoke with Max over the phone and discussed a couple of options. Initially we were looking at two new ports in our spare rooms, but Max advised that he needed to put a point in the living room for a fixed price and then each additional point would be slightly more than the original price again. We didn't need the ports in the spare rooms that much, so we settled for the point in the living room only.

Once Max had completed the job, our connection to the internet 'stopped working' (it had been working previously without fault). He asked if we wanted him to trouble shoot the issue, which of course we did as it appeared to be of his own creation, but didn't mention any additional charges.

Hours later and several holes in the roof of the studio Max advised that the issue laid with the line between the house and the street and we needed to raise the matter with Optus. He charged us more than double the quoted price and said it would be extra again to fix the holes in the ceiling of the studio.

When I got home I could see the modem was no longer plugged in... plugged it in and the internet was working fine. So I called Max and asked him to explain why we had been charged more than double for the pleasure of him damaging our property to fix a problem that didn't exist. He couldn't explain why and said that he was at another job and that he would discuss it with the boss (his father Steve) and come back to me.

After a number of subsequent discussions, Steve has refused to refund the extra charges (we were happy to pay for the new port installed, which is working fine) or repair the holes in the ceiling of our studio. In fact, he offered no form of remediation at all.

I don't think that Max acted with any malice, he just appears to have made a mistake. It is disappointing that the company refuses to take responsibility for this mistake.

The price we approved before they started work was not what they charged. They didn't discuss any additional charges until they served us with an invoice and they left our property damaged.

Subsequently I would recommend you take your business elsewhere.
