I bought a Honda Jazz this year - supposed to be my daughter's first car when she gets her licence next month - and was such a great little car. The brakes needed doing, so we did that and had a complete service in October. On pick up, the mechanic advised they had replaced the radiator cap - and said the water pump would have to be replaced down the track...
Then, the troubles began! The car's heating system started acting up, cool light would come on or the hot light would flash and I could hear a gurgling watery sound. This is where the customer service goes downhill. I called last Wednesday and was told to bring it in Friday. When I got there, the mechanic was adamant that my car wasn't 'in the book.' That was what it looked like, yes, I agreed...
"Leave it here", he said with a sigh. I went home and heard nothing back, so at 5pm, I was worried and I called them. "Yeah come and pick it up" they said. I thought they had 'fixed it'. I waited for over 20 minutes while they were busy chatting, with a client. When they finally acknowledged my presence, I was given the keys and was told they drove the car to Fairfield and back that day, THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS. "Definitely ok to drive, just don't drive to Sydney." I wasn't convinced...but drove it home.
Saturday was a very hot day - I started the car but I didn't want to risk driving it. Mechanic had said to bring it back Monday to do the water pump, but they were just too busy to give me a quote.
It took several phone calls on Monday (they sounded annoyed) just to get a quote, I didn't feel like a customer, I felt like an inconvenience. Called up Red Devil, recommended by a friend, they did a CO2 test on the car Monday and - you guessed it - the head gasket was blown. We are devastated. Would not recommend.
