I have brought several birds from the bird shed and they have all been in very good health and have had no problems with them at look and they are really lovely propel and very helpful

I bought a '5 year-old female' Superb Parrot from the owner of the store. 6 months later 'she' moulted from her juvenile plumage into a male! I paid $200 for her and travelled from Brisbane to get her. When I phoned up the store, I spoke to the owner again who denied what had happened. He said 'Ph we have never had a bird that old here!'. After I absolutely insisted I bought her from his store he has offered to put me on a waiting list. I really do hope that he comes through with a female this time! It was not only an inconvenience, but also a waste of a breeding season.

I also bought a pair of Regents Parrots. The female had broken tail feathers and wing feathers. I was told she must have broken them from being in a small cage. They had since put her into an aviary. I took them home to find that she was actually pulling her own feathers out. This is a severe behavioural problem which is very expensive, timely and difficult to reverse.

Unless the owner pulls through, I will not be buying from The Bird Shed again and will be writing further reviews to allow others to make a more informed decision when buying a new bird!
