Sound Building Inspections

I used this company for pre-purchase inspections of a house back in January 2017. They use a standard template in the reports, which is nice however it leads the inspectors to overlook faults as they are drawn to what is in a basic report format (lots of pictures, most with no descrition).

While I am happy they found some of the faults in the property, they missed a pretty big issue. Extensive sagging ceilings resulting from failed stud glue was found throughout the property, according to the team at SBI, its not there responsability to look for these defects.

Not sure about actual qaulity of inspection performed now, getting second opinion with a company that has advertising that they look for this type of damage. Also not sure if more sinister structural failure, better to be safe and recheck.

We have used this buisness on two properties, both times we were very happy with there service, not so much with some things found as the house had server proplems which we couldnt detect, we were very happy that this was found prior to settlement date and ran for the hills. good job Guys!!

Both times the real estate pushed us to use there building and pest inspectors, which seems really dodgy!! we were very glad to have sound undertake the inspection as the agent gave us a 2 month old inspection report done by another company XXXXXXXXXXXXX and had very little findings in there report, however when sound did our first property we couldnt belive what they found, we had a engineer come onto this property as they recommended and he told us it was lucky that this issue was found as he quoted us a 6 didgit figure. After declining this first property we had found another a few month later and we knew who to call to get our inspections done.
