Merrimu Receptions

I and three others members of Cathouse Players of Kyneton, attended Merrimu Receptions on Sunday December 6th, 2015, and joined many hundreds of excited performers, directors etc., at the annual Victorian Drama League's Awards Night, recognizing outstanding achievements in amateur theatre, Victoria-wide. At the end of the evening, we left, very happy, as we were nominated for three awards, and won a special Adjudicator's Award for original music, for our production of 'Sylvia' in May. And we were also so happy to enjoy the impeccable service at Merrimu, the ever-present, patient and courteous wait staff, and the absolutely delicious menu, immaculately served and presented - I almost believed that my two vegetarian dishes had been cooked, just, and only for me! And to to achieve such almost simultaneous service in a very crowded and lovely room, was, in itself, a perfect production.

Had a Wedding in the family on the 20th of December 2014. The food was great, the service was excellent and we had a wonderful experience. There was nothing to hard for them. Joe was very friendly and helpful from the planning stage to end of the party. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Our Wedding was in the Grand Ballroom and was absolutely amazing!! The layout of the room is perfect with the dance floor in the center of the room. The lighting, curtains, and staircase also give that Grand and warm feeling, and not one thing appears out of place! The bridal suite has its own sitting room, change room and bathroom, which has stunning furniture that compliments Merrimu's history. They have beautiful courtyards which are also great for pictures!
Leading up to our wedding, the planning was made care-free with Joe and Peter. They have a friendly approach, and are easy to talk with, which can be very hard to find when looking for a reception venue. I had no worries at all with organizing the reception part of our day, and that really helps with planning a wedding!
On the night, everything was taken care of, Joe and Peter were there to greet us as we arrived, and the night ran smoothly. The staff were friendly, and made sure all the guests were happy. The food was exceptional, and no fault could be seen. Everything was highly professional, and still maintained a warm, friendly atmosphere, exactly what we were after.
We received great feedback from our guests that night, saying how great the food was, and how beautiful the reception venue was.
Merrimu staff pay excellent attention to detail, and nothing is left undone. We have had the best night ever, and would not of change a thing! I hope to go back as a guest next time!
