In home care manager is rude and disorganised. Often doesn’t respond or answer emails. Takes advantage of staff and provides poor to no communication for staff to undertake their role. Told to pick up fleet car at start of the shift but no one there and couldn’t get into the building to get it. I informed them at the start of my employment that I have to be able to collect my son from the bus stop at a certain time. This was agreed but they disrespected this on my first day and I was not informed until I arrived at work and was rostered to be with a client, no email or call previously. Asked to work 40 hours a fortnight and it even said 40 a fortnight in the contract, she expected me to work 80 a fortnight. Very little training in using their record system. No breaks at all, we’re always rostered to do 8 to 9 hour shifts straight. Pretty hard to cross your legs for that long. Not compensated for the time between clients. Great uniforms (not) polyester in Queensland. Had several clients who had their packages overcharged, in one case a very neat and tidy lady living in a very small unit was charged 4 hours of cleaning a week. It only took half an hour. The majority of clients were charged like that well over time. You would be sent there for an hour shift and the task would take 15 min. I heard from one client that she was charged $800 for lightneasy when she only got $200 worth. She is still chasing a refund months later. I’m still chasing pay. It is rear to get a fleet car, you have to use your own and only get 89cents per km travel expenses , very low in comparison to similar companies. It really does need an overhaul, starting with a new manager.
