Nana Glen Public School

The school was not empathetic to our situation. I had 5 boys go to Nana Glen public school. The boys mum was diagnosed with Acute myeloid leukaemia and I had a failed spinal fusion so our life was turned upside down. The school knew our situation well. There was no support offered and attendance became a problem for the school. My son was taken out of class and told that they know his mum is not sick anymore and why is he having time off for trips to Sydney for her treatment. She was still very sick and is still recovering from a stem cell transplant. I had to contact the department of education about the treatment we were receiving from the principal as she was aggressive towards us ,even twisted our words and threatened to call the police. The department of education had to remind her of the ACT and how to treat parents. We had enough going on and did not need my son in tears because of the school and there inappropriate actions. So much unnecessary stress including stressful phone calls for unimportant things to my partner from the principal when she was undergoing chemotherapy for the transplant.

Love the area but can't recommend the school.
