What is a safety switch?
A safety switch is a device that rapidly switches off the electricity supply in the event an electrical fault is detected. This is to minimize the risk of electrical related fires, electric shock. Injury or death.
Do I need a safety switch?
As per Australian regulations all homes are required to have a safety switch installed. If a switchboard does not have one available to conduct any work to the property, a safety switch must be installed.
Will installing downlights reduce my electricity bill?
Downlights use a significant amount of electricity less than the standard incandescent bulb. A standard downlight used on 10W, where as an incandescent bulb would use 60W. Installing downlights efficiently will definitely contribute to the reduction of your electricity bill.
What does it mean if my safety switch won’t return to its operating position?
Generally if your safety switch will not flick back up, then it means you have a fault in the property. The best way to determine whether it is a faulty appliance or if the integrity of electricity is questionable is by unplugging all appliances in the property and trying to turn it back on. If the problem is still present, our team of electricians will be able to assist.
What should I do if all the lights in my house are flickering?

What is the right height when having my TV mounted on the wall?
The answer is simple. At eye level of your seating arrangement. When installing a tv on the wall, people often get confused and think the purpose of installing a TV is to stop finger marks from children. That can be a reason to install a TV but is generally not the case. By Installing a TV on the wall, you remove a lot of the clutter and create a clean finish. If you install a TV to high, it becomes straining on your neck. The optimal height is to have it at eye level.

Are there different types of downlights?
With lighting there are 2 factors to consider. There is functional lighting and there is aesthetic lighting. Functional lighting is used in environments where you need to be able to completely visualize and observe the matters in front of you. For example, cooking in the kitchen. Aesthetic lighting is about ambience, design, and mood. It is used to complement finishes and or create a change in mood. For example, in your bathroom when coming have a candlelight bath.
Can any electrician install my chandelier?
Yes, any qualified electrician should be able to install a chandelier. However, like in all industries, having an electrician who has more experience with chandeliers will be able to attend to the installation promptly. Because chandeliers can have different sizes or weights, the installation may differ in different locations.

Honestly, one of the greatest experiences I’ve had with a tradie from start to finish. Bill was extremely responsive, knowledgeable and reliable. There was honesty and transparency through every element of the process. The boys are just wonderful. Even more inspiring that they stick to their word about giving back - they’re partnered with Solar Buddy (first Electrician to do so!!!!) to help solve the energy crisis that millions of Australian’s face today while also being committed to helping the energy crisis internationally as well. Best part is the donations were made on my behalf. Their quality of work & professionalism cannot be topped. Will definitely be using them in the future and recommending them to all family, friends and anyone who needs an electrician really !
