Took my bus in for a Roadworthy Certificate and was told it failed because the lower ball joints allegedly needed replacing. Something didn’t feel right, so I took my bus for a second opinion.
The second mechanic properly tested the ball joints, found zero movement, I stayed for the test and have video evidence confirming they were completely fine. No repairs required.
This looks like an attempt to rip me off with unnecessary work just to get a fail and charge for repairs that weren’t needed. Very shifty behaviour and not someone I would trust with safety inspections or honest advice.
As a woman, this experience felt like an attempt to take advantage of me. I was told critical components needed replacing when a second, independent inspection confirmed there was no issue at all. It’s disappointing and concerning to feel spoken down to or misled in this situation.
If you value transparency and integrity, stay away.
