We have had a very bad experience with Pyrenees Building Group, AKA Builtt Builders. In February 2023 we engaged Builtt Builders to build our dream home. Our dream became a nightmare when the builder failed to build to building regulations and Standards. It has cost us thousands for specialist reports to get to were we are now, and we are still not in our home. In March 2024 the builder re-branded the business from Builtt Builders to Pyrenees Building Group. The builder messages us to advise that he is coming to rectify his building errors, then they never turn up. As at today, 23/6/2025, the builder has been onsite less than two weeks this year. The building Surveyor, had to issued a Written Direction to Fix Building Work and we also had to take action through the DBDRV process. So far this year, the builder has cited alcohol related issues for his poor workmanship and his inability to accurately quote jobs, resulting in the business not have sufficient funds to operate, or rectify the building defects and non-compliant works in our home. The builder has also complained that it has cost them more than $200,000 to rectify what defects so far. That should give any potential future clients an idea of how much they did wrong. Don't get me wrong, our house looks great, everyone comments on how stunning it looks, but the devil is in the detail. The entire house had to be restumped because the builder poured premixed cement into post holes full of water and the concrete had less than half the minimum strength. Both bathrooms, the laundry & pantry had to be gutted to the frame, because of poor building methods and most of verandah had to be replaced, the list goes on. More than 80 building defects and non-compliant issues, all hidden behind attractive wall lining and paint. What do they say, it looked good from a far, but the builders workmanship is far from good.
This is our experience with Pyrenees Building Group, AKA Builtt Builders, we have investigative reports, building Standards, and manufacturer product guides that back up our experience and highlight the defects and non-compliance. This may not be your experience, you may have work done by Pyrenees Building Group, AKA Builtt Builders, that looks good from a far but is far from good.
