Decided to leave the rubbish behind???

On the most recent occasion of hiring a bin, the driver picking up the bin decided to remove rubbish from the bin and leave it in our driveway because "we can't have food in the bins"? Not only was there only food in only one bag out of the 4 or so he removed, I've never heard of food being an issue in waste bins?

I spoke to the office staff who responded once confirming the excuse of no food, then no further response to any of my questions. Really disappointing, not sure the point of hiring waste bins if they are going to leave the waste behind you have already paid them to remove?

Their website says "Please be reminded that we do not accept Asbestos, Super 6, or Hardie Fencing products in our bins." Nothing about food I can see? Maybe don't provide bins to residential properties or advertise this service if you only want construction waste. I'll most likely take this further.

Avoid Northside Skip Bins: A Lesson in Disrespect, Lies, and Intimidation

I deeply regret hiring Northside Skip Bins without reading reviews. My experience was defined by disrespectful behavior, blatant lies, and intimidation tactics from their manager, Kristy, whose actions made the entire process unnecessarily stressful. Here’s why I strongly recommend avoiding this company.

Broken Promises and Lies (October 28, 2024)

On October 28, the day my 10-cubic-meter skip bin was due for delivery, it didn’t arrive. With contractors ready to begin work, I contacted the company to inquire. I spoke with Kristy, who claimed the delay was because the 10-cubic-meter skip bin was not suitable for soil and sand—materials I had disclosed at booking. Instead, she offered a 9-cubic-meter bin, saying it was the only option.

This explanation was blatantly false, an obvious excuse to cover up their logistical issues. When I questioned her reasoning, Kristy’s tone became dismissive and condescending. The conversation escalated, and she declared: “If you continue speaking to me this way, I’ll cancel your order entirely, and you won’t get the 9-cubic-meter bin either.”

Her threat to cancel my booking outright shocked me. Instead of resolving the issue professionally, Kristy chose to intimidate me, asserting dominance over a customer. By the end of the call, she abruptly hung up, leaving me feeling disrespected and unheard.

Unreasonable Payment Demands and More Intimidation (November 1, 2024)

On November 1, I emailed the company requesting to extend my bin rental by one week, until November 11. I offered to pay via PayPal, the same method used for my original booking. Given my prior negative experience, I requested all communication be conducted via email.

Ignoring this, Kristy called me directly. She dismissed my PayPal request and insisted payment must be made via credit card over the phone or cash at their office. I explained that visiting their office wasn’t possible and reiterated my PayPal preference. Her response was another threat: “If you don’t pay the way we require, the bin will be collected on Monday, November 4.”

Her tone was arrogant and dismissive, showing no regard for my concerns. The threat to remove the bin during an active paving project was clearly an attempt to pressure me into compliance. After making this ultimatum, Kristy hung up again, showing no interest in resolving the issue professionally.

Seeking Help from Consumer Protection

Frustrated and out of options, I contacted Consumer Protection WA, who advised me to document everything and send the company a formal email outlining my willingness to pay via PayPal. In my email, I made it clear that if my request was not met, I would escalate the matter by filing an official complaint.

Shortly after sending this email, I received an SMS from the company stating there were operational delays and that the bin would now be collected a week later than planned. While this resolved the immediate issue, it raised further concerns about their professionalism and why they couldn’t accommodate my request earlier.

The Final Outcome (November 11, 2024)

On November 11, the bin was finally collected, marking the end of my ordeal. However, the behavior of Kristy throughout this process left a lasting negative impression. Her dishonesty, bullying tactics, and dismissive attitude were entirely unacceptable.

It is baffling that someone with such unprofessional behavior holds a managerial position. Her actions caused unnecessary stress and frustration, turning a simple service into an unpleasant ordeal.

Why You Should Avoid Northside Skip Bins

From lies to intimidation, Kristy’s treatment of me as a customer was appalling. Her approach reflects a business that neither values nor respects its clients. If you’re considering hiring Northside Skip Bins, I urge you to think again. Choose a company that prioritizes professionalism and respect—Northside Skip Bins is not that company.
