⭐ Extremely Disappointing Experience - Cat's Negligent Treatment



I am appalled by the treatment my beloved cat received at this animal hospital, ultimately resulting in his tragic and preventable death. The negligence, poor communication, and lack of empathy displayed by the staff are unacceptable in a field that demands trust and compassion. Despite paying $5500, my cat did not receive the necessary care, and I have yet to receive a response or refund after filing a formal complaint. I strongly advise against trusting this facility with your pet's wellbeing.



Absolutely disgusting !!

They are worst animal hospital in Victoria no work ethics most importantly no love for animals thats moral fact. I call them architects not vetinary , not professional no integrity in their practice.

Took my dog there twice, wanted payment straight away even though they say they have payment plan. I was to pay my bill yesterday but hadn't got to it but by 4pm they called wanting to know where their money was.

I'm a pensioner and yes I know the bill has to be paid but for God sake. Even when I told the reception I would pay it on line she told me that takes too long to get to them.

We took our rescue Guinea pig in for an appt. We were charged $204 for 20-30 minutes. Expensive but we fully paid. When I returned a week later to renew a script I was told we had outstanding bills due. I was shocked. Since fully paying on the day the vet has retrospectively added $250 to the bill. Meaning they are charging $450 for a 20-30 min appt. The manager did not resolve this despite being aware that retrospective charges were added. We will be contacting Consumer Affairs and never returning.

I went through emergency for my pet and Lort Smith took me when literally everything other vet I could get to turned me away because I count pay upfront!

The staff have been generous and understanding from the moment I bought my pet in to the setting up of payment plan as my pet was very sick and required long term care!

Selfish people talking of pricing don't seem to be smart enough to understand that Lort Smith is a not for profit and has far more expensive equipment than their local vet, it's the difference between your GP and a private hospital, you pay much more at hospital than a GP even for the same thing.

Lort Smith is a wonderful facility and they've always handled the death of a pet with care and thoughtfulness, thank you.

If there was a 0 rating I would press it.....lower prices for people on low income who love their pets and trying to provide care for them? The opposite- higher prices than at the local vets.....very sad...:(

Lort Smith is not a buisness for animals, your pet represent just the means to squeeze out asmany $$$ as possible from you.
I learned my lesson, and my advise would be go to a local vet, most likly you get a mutch more friendly service, @ a tenth of the price.....
