I need to have a current first aid for my TAFE course. I went to Google looked for a close provider and found St John training in Belmont. I explained my senior first aid was last done in 2010 in Australia. I said I have done one in Japan recently but it would not be valid. The lady said I only need to do a CPR refresher. So I gave my CC details over the phone. I did the course on Monday the 23/08/2021. I hand in my original senior first aid certificate from 2010 and the certificate for the CPR refresher from the Monday to TAFE. TAFE said another module had to be 3 years current. I called back St John training and asked why they did not provide me with the right course for a current senior first. They said they don't know, then they said I had to pay for the CPR and the other module and do the course over again. I said that was unacceptable and I shouldn't have to do the CPR part and not pay for the their misunderstanding and mistake. She got on to her manager and said the best they could do was a refund for the CPR. I said I wanted to talk to the manager. He came on the phone I explained, I wanted a full refund and they wasted my day on Monday and they should honour me and give me a reduced rate or in full for dishonouring me. He said, I was outlasting. I disagree I was standing up for the fact they wasted my time and dishonoured me by giving me the incorrect service that I asked for. We didn't agree he was obviously angry, I was standing up for myself. I said I want my money back and I am taking my business elsewhere and I am very disappointed that the description of the service was not correct that I was after. He then refused to give my money back. I guess because I was taking my business elsewhere. But I sorry I lost confidence in the service.
I want my money back and yes, it's a monopoly business; bullying the little guy. I wonder how many times they get away with this scam. Very annoyed. Obviously forgetting the customer is right especially when it's their hard earn cash. Very hostile and lacking basic customer service.
I am surprised this is from a reputable firm. I guess scams come from all angles, shapes and forms.
