Go elsewhere!

I have never in my life seen such rudeness, such lack of basic customer service, and borderline gaslighting.

Last Sunday I went instore with my son and purchased a unicorn pinata. He walked out carrying it and noted the horn was a little lose. 'Dont worry, we'll fix it up' I said, and put it in the boot of the car. When we got home and took the pinata out of the bag, the leg was lose and dangling. Being Sunday, and the store in the market, I said we'll go back next Sunday and return it or exchange. That was today. We went to the store and spoke with the woman that was at the till last week. I explained and said I couldn't find the receipt, I must've put in the bin with the fruit and veg receipts. She seemed to remember us, but started saying that my son walked out with the pinata and must've broken himself, as they would not sell something damaged. That if it was damaged they would have sent to their supplier. I said I understand, but it was indeed broken, that we had come in good faith, the leg was damaged from the get go. She continued saying we must've broken over and over again to the point that even my 6yo son was saying 'we are telling the truth, why would we lie?'. This was right at the entrance of the store, me and my son, the older woman, now joined by an older man, and the younger woman at the till. Them all basically saying that we were lying. I cannot understand why they would prefer to make this big scene! Things take a bizarre turn when the man picks up another unicorn pinata, I imagine to finally exchange it, and the leg is lose too. Not so bad as the other, but proving my point nonetheless. I ask to exchange to another one, and my son points to a doughnut one. They say no, and now the older woman says they will not exchange because it wasnt last week that we bought. That it wasnt me, it was a man with my son, ages ago. What?! The shop man points to the string in the pinata and says something like we wouldn't have put this, this is old. They all say yeah, this was not from last week. I am absolutely shocked at this point, saying yeah we as a family come to this shop often, but the pinata we bough last week. Now the man says without the receipt we wont exchange, him and the older woman walk away from us, leaving the pinata on the ground, as if saying' we're done here'.

All this in front of a number of customers, and worst of all my young son. I am truly shocked. I'll copy and paste this text to as many review places as I can find, in the hopes that others choose to spend their hard earned money in businesses that appreciate them as people and customers. I'll fix this broken pinata and I'll be the one crushing it at the party!
