Raceview Hotel

I rang and booked for 4 adults and 2 children for sit down meals. When we got to the Hotel there was no record of our booking.

When I rang about the booking, I asked if the "Beer Battered Flat Head salad, cowboy chips, tartare sauce" was still on the menu? I was assured it was. so I made the booking.

Upon arriving at the Raceview Hotel there was no table booked, and after about 10 mins standing around a gentelman arrived and told us to sit anywhere.

Eventually the meals arrived and my "Beer Battered Flat Head salad, cowboy chips, tartare sauce" turned out to be OVER cooked standard fish and chips. The chips were over cooked and almost inedible due to the latherings of salt, the "salad" was coleslaw, no tomato or any leafy green. No idea what the fish was as it was crumbed and so over cookled it was not edible( our dog, who loves fish, turned her nose up at it.).

My wife and 2 grandaughters ordered chicken. The oldest Grandaughter, aged 12 could not cut the chicken it was so tough, the youngest had no hope of cutting the chicken, my wife had trouble cutting her chicken.

The only up side was the steaks, ordered by our granson and his wife were cooked to perfection. All the chips were slathered with salt.

From the time we sat at the table no waitress or waiter approached other then to deliver our meals.

We arrived at 6.00pm and left at 8.30pm and all the dirty plats were still on the table.

Service must be a dirty word at the Raceview Hotel because it does not exist there.
