Review for Western MG Service Center – Ravenhall

If I could give less than one star, I would.



I’ve had multiple ongoing issues with my MG HS Essence since purchasing it in early 2023, most notably a persistent Android Auto disconnection problem. Despite visiting three MG service centers, including Ravenhall (where I bought the car), I’ve been fobbed off at every turn with the same lazy response: “We updated the software, couldn’t replicate the issue.”



At Western MG Ravenhall, I was told by Tony that video evidence of the issue would be sufficient for MG to investigate further. I provided exactly that—but when I brought the car in again, I was told they still couldn’t replicate it, so nothing could be done. A complete contradiction of what I was promised. It was only after I escalated to the service manager that a fault was finally raised and a replacement FICM booked.



While waiting for that repair, new problems appeared:



The car wouldn’t start (MG Roadside Assist replaced the battery for $440).



The issue repeated the next day. Roadside Assist found a parasitic battery drain and a P0700 error code indicating a transmission issue.



The TPMS warning light also returned within minutes of leaving the service center—after they claimed it was fixed.



The service advisor (Tony) showed a complete lack of attention to detail, gave inaccurate service notes, and seemed disinterested and dismissive. Some examples:



Said RACV replaced my battery (it was MG Roadside Assist).



Blamed warning lights on battery issues that predated the battery failure.



Ignored my clearly documented concerns and repeated explanations.



Each visit has cost me time, income, and unnecessary frustration. I’ve had to chase updates, repeat myself, and fight to be taken seriously.



I will not be returning to Western MG Ravenhall, and I strongly urge others to avoid servicing their vehicles there. I’ve raised this formally with MG Customer Care and am seeking reimbursement for the battery that failed due to their repeated failure to diagnose the root cause.

Western Nissan is a very welcoming and accommodating car dealership. They would go above and beyond to assisting the needs of their customers. From experience - after purchasing a Mitsubishi Outlander the service that I received from John was above high standards to assist my needs and requirements. Thanks John & Mark for all your help.
