Ian Laing Drafting

I engaged Mr Laing to do a fairly straight forward drafting exercise. He came with a recommendation from a Town Planner who I thought I could trust.



The whole project was a disaster.



It took Ian 4 drafts, to get the plans done, but then it still wasn’t right. He never ground truth ed his plans - and just guessed where the windows were - and thus all the measurements were inaccurate. Extra windows were included when they were non existent. This confused everyone reading the plans and delayed the project. It also caused me excessive amounts of undue stress and frustration.



Even when I asked him to fix the plans, he still took several months, then repeating the same errors.



There are alot of people in life who come across of really easy going and great to deal with - but the real test is if the job was delivered in a way that didn't require me to constantly follow up.



I am hesitant on recommending Ian.
