St Kilda Pier Kiosk & Little Blue Cafe

This caf at the end of the pier must just be about the most photographed building in Melbourne and many posters are for sale that capture it and the iconic curved art deco lights along this 400 metre pier. The food and drinks at the pier are expensive and nothing special and it can often take a long time to be served but look at the location. It burnt down about 15 years ago but was rebuilt pretty much to the original specs but it was a scandal that the previous lessees who had been there for years and saved many people from drowning werent allowed to keep running it. There is a large fairy penguin colony in the breakwater at the end of the pier so that is why you cant go much further. There is a plan to substantially change the design of the pier in the next few years.
