Its been a long time since I've felt the need to complain about anything but, what i experienced at this vet has certainly caused my family and i real disgust. My cat became ill with a urinary track blockage, which he has had a number of times. We have had him treated at a couple of vets for this ( 5 times in total) so know the process/cost very well. Due to this we have always tried to fined a vet who balances cost and care, which we found at a vets surgery in Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast. This vet is a good hours drive from where we live but is worth the hours drive every time. In this instance due to the nature of the blockage we decided we couldn't afford the time t drive the hour up, so we opted to take our cat back to Northside Vet Care understanding it would be more expensive than the Caloundra vet. Once i was seen i was quoted $1000 - $1500 for my cat to stay in for 2 nights on fluid, pain meds, anti bionics as well as a catheter inserted under aesthetic. When the vet printed off the quote she wrote on the quote the higher amount of $1500, which she asked me to sign as confirmation of acceptance to pay up to that amount.I left our cat there and looked forward to the update over the coming days. After 2 days was up we had the call to let us know he was ok to be picked up. The bill came to $1300. I took down our last bill from the Caloundra vet to compare pricing, as the same procedure for the same length of time only came to $780! Yes thats right a difference of nearly $600. I was confused as to how there could be such a difference and asked the polite lady at reception to printed off an itemised bill so i could go over it before paying. The first line on the bill was anaesthetic which came to $250, to fit a catheter.. Comparing it to the bill from Caloundra they came to $138. I was offered a call from the Manager on Monday(i was there on Sunday).....it is now Friday night and no call, what a surprise. RING AROUND PEOPLE, AVOID THIS BUSINESS AT ALL COSTS!

In regards to Lisa's review - Lisa, you will eventually be in for a shock if you adopt a belief that Northside Vet Care is affordable. I was given a quote by their clinic for over $700.00 for a standard teeth clean for my cat. Even if you deducted the pre-anesthetic blood test from that amount, it is still over $600.00, which was the highest price that I was quoted anywhere, and the highest by far that I had ever seen in years of regularly having cat's teeth cleaned at other vet clinics. After I got their quote, I got my cats teeth cleaned for only $225.00 at another vet clinic in the same area with all of the same monitoring, fluids, general anesthetic, etc included as was in their overpriced quote, and was done by a more senior experienced vet as well compared to the vet at Northside Vet Care. I would not want to even give them the one star.
