Mantra Circle on Cavil - Cannot believe my partner and I were not notified of a $300.00 cleaning fee that was debited from our account without my acknowledge. We were not notified of a cleaning fee upon arrive nor checking out. Every time we visit the Gold Coat we stay at the Mantra and never had an issue regarding this before. If I had known I wouldve thrown out the minimal trash that was placed in plastic bags on the bench myself. This is a first for a hotel train to have their guests take out the trash on behalf of their cleaners. The cleaning fee is higher then what it costs to book a room for a night. Appealing.
Also upon arrival the room absolutely stunk of damp and smoke but I left all three doors to the balcony open for the entire three days as I did not want to make a fuss. Further to this when I was showering the glass shower door broke which I actually fixed myself.
If your staff members at reception advised us of the cleaning fee upon checking out, we wouldve been more than happy to go back upstairs to clean the room. Further training for your staff is needed. Looking forward to your response.
