Absolutely Useless

I tried to open an account with Expedia and they required a 6 digit code that they would send by email. Four times I immediately entered the emailed code and four times in a row when i tried to enter it an error message said the code was invalid. Next I called customer service but that gave me the run around with no options given except for bookings with an itinerary number. There is no way to call Expedia Australia to report a problem that is not associated with a booking already made. With this difficulty already encountered I wouldn't have the confidence to entrust any flight booking with Expedia Australia. Hopelessly incompetent..

No different to scammers

Expedia refused to rebook flights for us even if Delta had issued us Ecredits for flights cancelled due to Covid. Obviously Expedia already pocketed their commission. Worst thing is putting us on hold during the conversation twice for 3 hrs and they did absolutely nothing to try to rebook the flights for us. Delta has a 1800 number which Expedia could easily have reached them on our behalf. Each time we contacted Delta directly, it only took 5-10 minutes to get assistance. We now have to fork out an extra $US50 to get Delta to rebook flights for us when Expedia was supposed to do this free of charge.

Horrible experience with Expedia never again

Expedia is the worth platform, we are guess and host and we will be cancelling all our guess if you have an issues and try to contact them they just hang up on you.

This is the worth service we ever seen, do not go near them

The most incompetent travel agent out there

We recently booked an apartment in Porto, Spain through Expedia.

We arrived in the evening with our 9 months old baby to a shop front. Despite the listing address, it turns out the apartment was actually in Lisbon.

We immediately booked another apartment (through Expedia) which followed with a reservation confirmation.

We arrived at the second apartment to be told the apartment there had been an error and that the apartment was already booked.

We then hand to book and pay for a third apartment (not through Expedia), this time without issue.

We have been chasing Expedia for a refund for weeks without success. Listings on their site are unreliable. Customer service is non-existent. The staff we are dealing with are completely disinterested.

Booked accommodation through Expedia (itinerary: 7250522417082) on the 9th March. Drove for five hours, arrived at accommodation to be told the booking was not received by the accommodation manager. Called Expedia twice. First time staff told me they could not hear me. Second time they told me they would find alternative accommodation, then hung up on me. Meanwhile, Expedia took full accommodation costs from my credit card. Family of five left to our own devices. Contacted Expedia via Facebook, given the typical scripted response and promises, then hear nothing and no assistance.

Never again. Apart from the frustration of paying for accommodation that wasn't actually booked and couldn't use, I had to find alternative accommodation and pay again, at Easter, not an easy task. Also wrecked our scheduled plans, created extra travel, ruined groceries.

Do not use Expedia, just book directly with accommodation providers who are actually likely to have really booked you in. Using Expedia puts you at risk of not having a place to stay while they have the privilege of your money. Customer support simply does not exist at Expedia in Australia and is outsourced to the lowest labour cost countries such as the Philippines and India.

Trying to correct the stuff up Expedia has made of our bookings has been a total nightmare. Phone call after phone call, nothing, nowhere, no progress. Please have someone from Australia call us who can actually help us rather than being passed on from person to person who can not resolve your issues
