La Couturier Alterations

I am very happy with their service. I bought my wedding dress online from US and it was 2 to 3 sizes too small when it arrived just 4 weeks before my wedding. I brought it to La Couturier Alterations and they were able to fix it on time for my wedding. The fitting was perfect. Thank you.

I had my wedding dress alrered with Tsu recently for my wedding on the 27/5. My dress was the Willow by Made with Love. On my first fitting, we both agreed I needed the waist brought in, there was a small hole on the side that needed mending and I requested the straps be taken up. For this work I was quoted $600. Tsu also noted I should take the hem up however I had to think about it due to it costing an extra $400. On this day, Tsu informed she had some left over material from a Frankie wedding dress she had altered to help mend the small hole.For my second fitting I had to reschedule due to family commitments and Tsu rescheded the appointment with no issue. On the second fitting, we did the final measurements of the waist. The arm straps had been planned to be taken up (at this time they were only loosely tacked) however I decided I did not want them taken up as high as it made the top sit too high on my chest. So intead of I think taking off 3cm of the strap it was agreed that 1cm would be taken off. I also decided to hem my dress because even in heels I tripped.
On the day of pick up, my dress had black threads throughout the tulle which I cleaned later (photos avail). The dress fit however clips did not meet as well as it originally did (before/after photos avail). I noted to her the hole was not mended and she proceeded to sew the hole up with needle and thread while the dress was on me. There was a long piece of tulle that had not been cut off properly which was found during pick up day however she did not fix. It was later found on my wedding day by my photographer as I was getting ready. Bridesmaid had to cut the tulle for me (photo+vid avail as we were already recording our day)No refund was made for strap work (which I had decided against) due to the work she had already done (loose tack, 1 phonecall, 1 email). Tsu talks alot about some customers negatively and though she was pleasant she was also blunt and inpatient. Work was rushed and poorly done.

Tsu did a fantastic job with my dress. I really just left everything in her capable hands. My dress looked so much better after the alterations she advised.

I was recommended to Tsu at La Couturier for alterations on my wedding dress. After making a significant emotional and financial investment in purchasing my dress, I wanted to make sure the alterations were perfect. Tsu definitely delivered her skill, love of her craft and attention to detail made me feel at ease through the whole process. She went over and above in the time she spent altering my gown even working right up until the last hours before her holiday. I cannot thank Tsu enough for the work she did and wouldnt hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for quality alterations.

Tsu is very professional at what she is doing!! She is very attentive and gets into every detail that I have asked for in altering my bridesmaid dresses. I bought a bridesmaid dress that is too big and now they fit perfectly!!!

I cannot recommend Tsu highly enough. After having been let down by my wedding dress shop back in the UK, it was such a relief to meet Tsu. The UK shop had sent me the wrong size dress - they seemed to have put two different sizes together so the top half of the dress was a size 8 and the bottom a 14 and I was a size 12! I didn't have time to send it back to the UK (and by that point had lost any trust for the UK shop being capable to fix the problem) so I went to Tsu for help. And she was fantastic! She explained that she would change the back off my dress from a zip fastening to a lace up bodice and took in and shortened the skirt. Tsu was extremely conscientious and did not take any short cuts. She also explained every part of the process and did the changes gradually to ensure I was happy with each alteration before completing each section. The dress looked perfect...even better than before. Tsu was a pleasure to deal with, friendly and approachable. I was getting married in Brisbane so Tsu advised me on how to transport and hang the dress. She also explained in detail to my mother and bridesmaid how to lace the bodice up so that they were experts on the day! In addition to my dress alterations I also asked Tsu to create a veil. She made me a beautiful cathedral length veil with satin edging and it was a gorgeous finishing touch. Thank you Tsu!

I cannot recommend Tsu more highly. My wedding dress was delivered to me two sizes too large. Tsu altered it so it was the perfect fit. She also suggested ways to improve it for my body. Now she is turning it into a cocktail dress for me! Thanks to Tsu, I felt a million dollars on my wedding day!

I first came to know of La Couturier Alterations when I was looking for a dressmaker to make some alterations to my wedding dress. I had done a general google search and it popped up. I looked on facebook and just got a good vibe from what I was seeing. I made contace with Tsu and from the initial enquiry to the day I picked up my altered wedding dress she has been such a pleasure to work with! She gave me honest opinions and was so professional. The dress I picked up was beautifully altered, with lovely lace and a new neckline that I was after. I also had another dress altered which she was more than happy to do in the small time frame I gave her. I highly recommend her if you are looking for an easy and stressfree experience!

Tsu is a lifesaver! She completely altered my wedding gown into the dress of my dreams. She took the time to listen to exactly what I wanted and offered constructive advice and always had time for me in person, through email and over the phone. Her prices are more than reasonable for her high quality of work and I couldn't recommend her more. She is also conveniently located in the Dymocks building (Sydney CBD), so easy to get to. I had just moved back to Sydney from overseas, where I bought my dress from. Unfortunately when the dress was completed and shipped to me, it was too big and didn't fit properly anymore, even though it was "made to measure". I was so lucky to have found La Couturier. Tsu was very professional and provided solid advice during my initial fitting. I was worried that my dress may be difficult to alter given it's bone structures and delicate lace and beading. Tsu assured me that they work on similar dresses all the time. I was right to my put trust in Tsu as the alternations were perfect. We did a few more fittings throughout the process to make sure everything was working. The end result was perfect, and I was very happy with my final dress. Tsu's craftsmanship was excellent, the delicate lace and beading were perfectly handpicked and stitched back to achieve the "original finish" look. My dress fitted like a glove. I also got my veil made by Tsu. I had a choice of different materials and lengths, which I could test out against my dress. I was very happy with the overall service and the final result. Highly recommended.
