Dodgy business with no ethics

Have not been with company for several years now, however, recently, I have been constantly harassed by a debt collecting company alleging they are working for smartsalary and I allegedly owe thousands of dollars. Something I fail to understand since money was taken out of my pay and then forwarded onto my bank institute, when I changed jobs, the payments obviously ceased, so I am not sure how overpayment occurred.

I have never received any correspondence from smart salary in relation to the alleged money owing, contact from the debt collector was the first I have heard of the situation. I have attempted to contact smart salary numerous time both via the online contact form and attempting to call (except I get put on hold for an ridiculous length of time). and have still not received any correspondence regarding the matter from smart salary.

For a company which services government employees, they have very poor customer services and extremely dodgy work practices. I am glad I changed to Remserve back in 2015 and have been with them ever since

AVOID like the plague!!!!

The customer service that I have received from this company is nothing short of DISGUSTING. I have been given incorrect information several times that has cost me a significant amount of money. Trying to get in touch with someone to speak to is near impossible with over 40 minutes wait when telephoning and emails not being responded to.
It began with me nearly loosing the car I put a deposit on because the sales consultant didn’t get back to me. I had to make several telephone calls and emails. The sales consultant then tried to blame the car dealership.
When I changed jobs and wasn’t driving as far, I attempted to reduce my estimated fuel costs and was told that it wasn’t possible to renegotiate this part of the agreement. Later I was told that this was incorrect.
Before I went on Maternity Leave I contacted Smartsalary via email to inform them, by this time I had a significant surplus of funds due to being told that I couldn’t renegotiate the amount of kms I travelled each week. I did not hear back from the Smartsalary, so called them. I was told that my surplus funds would cover my repayments and nothing should come out of my wage. When I called to tell them the date that my maternity leave would begin I was told that I was again given the wrong information and that money would have to be deducted from my salary. I was also told that I hadn’t notified them. I was able to tell them the day and time that my emailed and called and suddenly my email was miraculously found.
After further issues with communication and customer service, I decided to conclude my contract with Smartsalary and close my account and continue my lease by dealing directly with Macquarie (whose customer service was exemplary). This involved Smartsalary paying me out a significant amount of surplus funds (due to them giving me incorrect information re not being able to change the estimated number of kms travelled each week). I was taxed significantly on this amount when they paid me out. I received documentation of closure from Smartsalary and was assured that our business was concluded and I wouldn’t hear from them again. I have now received demanding emails telling me that my Smartsalary account that should be closed is over drawn $516.91. I have sent 5 emails to date without any response. The last email that I received is threatening getting a collection agency involved.
This company is an absolute disgrace. I have never experienced such poor customer service. I tell everyone with whom I work to avoid it.
